Jason Segel

It's taken a few years to realize it, but this man is by far my favorite actor.

I had an epiphany this weekend that has been in the works since 1998. First of all, what the hell is an epiphany. Its a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience of course!! I didn't look at Dictionary.com for that.

This epiphany happened while enjoying the heck out of "I Love You Man" at the Cinema Twin this weekend. Basically, Paul Rudd is getting married and realizes he doesn't have any friends to be in his wedding party so he goes on a mission to find a best man and hilarity ensues. Paul Rudd, Andy Samberg, Jamie Pressly, Jon Favreu ... its a pretty stellar line up.

What I came to realize Saturday night, is that every movie that Jason Segel has been in ... I've laughed so hard that I've cried ... every one of them.

The first movie I ever saw with him was "Dead Man on Campus" in 1998. Sure his role was very insignificant, but with Zack from Saved by the Bell and some other dude as the main characters, it was a solid movie. Jason (we're on a first name basis now) was 18 when this movie came out.

Then came "Slackers." An unbelievable movie where three guys cheat their way all the way through University and than get black mailed by a geek. Jason was the main character in this movie at the age of 22.

Then a 5 year stint where I didn't see anything with him .. but in the last three he has come back with "Knocked up", "Forgetting Sarah Marshal" (possibly the funniest movie of last year), and "I Love You Man." Oh yeah, did I mention he also wrote those three scripts, all before his 30th birthday.

Those five movies are hilarious and you should watch them .... that is if you can put up with some male nudity ... he apparently has no qualms being naked.

**** Mom, look away*****

ACDC

44 minutes. That's how long it took to sell 38,000 tickets to AC/DC at Mosaic Stadium in Regina. In Manitoba, Winnipeg sold out Canad Stadium in 30 minutes, a venue that holds 41,000.

About two hours after tickets were on sale I logged onto Facebook and found that there were two emotions. The first was: "I HATE TICKETMASTER!!" or "I HATE SCALPERS"!! The second was: "I"M GOIN TO ACDC!!!" or "WOOOOO ACDC"!!! It's to bad the first emotion was used more than the second.

This made me think ... how can people log onto ticketmaster right at 10 and still not get tickets? And how are tickets already on other websites selling for thousands of dollars more before the show is even sold out? Something seems fishy, but how do we prove it? Here I thought this whole credit card/non transferable thing was going to stop scalpers .. apparently not.

If you didn't get tickets ... we've got some to give away ... good luck!!

I'm not proud to say it .. but I've developed an addiction over the last two weeks. I cannot stop playing Sims 2: Castaway for the Wii!!

I wake up at 4 in the morning, which means bed time usually comes at 8 or 9. There's only been a handful of times that I've missed that bedtime ... a couple of them has been going to concerts in Saskatoon and having to work the next day .. and the others have come in the last two weeks due to my addiction.

I can't explain it ... I just can't put the Wii controller down. I can't quite put my finger on it .. the other day I was sitting there playing, thinking to myself, "I am not having fun right now, so why am I playing this game?" After that thought I played for another two hours.

I've escaped the island twice now, which means I should be done .. but I still can't quite!! There's still parts of the island I haven't explored, goals I haven't achieved, and huts that I have not built!!!!!

My name is Chance ... and I've become a gamer... REEEEEHHHHHHH!! (that's Jons Geek noise)

Canada vs. The World

Ok, so maybe Swift Current won't get on the top 40 list of places Kiss will tour. There is some steep competition. But I have not given up hope! "THE QUEST FOR KISS" will continue ... but I am also very proud to be a Canadian!

Right now, there are 7 Canadian cities in the top ten to bring Kiss to their communities .. and that's against the whole world!!! Winnipeg is at the top, then Kingston, then Calgary ... and Saskatoon is in the mix.

Even if Swift Current was in the running, we don't have the facilities to host the band, which means they would probably play in Saskatoon anyway. The good news out of all of this ... when the dust settles ... Kiss will be coming back to Saskatchewan!!!

Again, the Quest for Kiss will not end ... vote for Swift Current below !!!

Movies

I love movies. I love watching movies, I love picking out movies, I love the food that goes with movies ... heck, I may even have a non - sexual crush on movies.

Sometimes I feel like a bum when I don't do anything all weekend but watch movies, but than I think to myself, "you love movies! ", and I instantly feel better about life!!

Here's some movies I've watched lately:

Monsters vs. Aliens

I say this about every new cartoon movie that comes out .. but ... it was by far the best animated movie I've ever seen!! Seth Rogan stole the show by being the voice of Bob ... I almost peed my pants when he was trying to wheel the plate of jello!!

Reese Witherspoon did a pretty good job of being Ginormica too.

Its a must watch.

Role Models

Possibly the worst movie I've seen in a long time. There was still some pretty funny parts in it and everything, but I would not waste my money on seeing it.

I will say though, Paul Rudd is quickly becoming my favorite actor .. even if this was a horrible show!

Seven Pounds

How in the *&%$ did Will Smith go from being on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, to doing a movie like this!!??

Yes, it was really good, but only if you like feeling horrible after a movie.

A great show all the way through until the end ... I don't want to wreck it ... you'll figure it out about half way through.

I would still rent it ... its one of those "make ya think" movies.

Twighlight

I don't know what all the fuss was about. I can think of three vampire movies that were way better than this one .... Underworld, Blade, and 30 Days of Night.

I think the only reason this vampire movie did so well was the fact they geared it toward 14 year old girls.

Not worth paying money for, but if you can watch it for free, its not a complete waste of time.

There Will Be Blood

I know its been out for a long time but I just watched it the other day. One word ... awful. After watching this movie, and just recently no country for old men, I've now completely lost all respect for any movie that gets nominated for an Oscar.

I just read this morning Fast and Furious made over 72 million dollars in the first weekend which broke a crap load of records ... it sounds like it came as a total surprise ... I think its the next one to see, especially with all the old cast back.
