Jon Bon

My woman turned into Elaine from Seinfeld when I told her about Bon Jovi being the next BIG Mosaic stadium show. She actually left bruises on my chest when I told her the news. I never knew this before, but apparently girls around Saskatchewan find Bon Jovi attractive and would pay some serious money for tickets to see the show July 28th. After I stopped crying from her physical abuse of my body we had this conversation.

Chance: "It's going to be pretty expensive."
Tanya: " I don't care, I will pay any amount of money to see Bon Jovi!"

So, I guess I'll be taking my then wife to see her celebrity freebie ... I hope she doesn't accidentally bump into him back stage!!

Here's the tricky part about Bon Jovi. It's one of those concerts where you'll see bunches of woman and couples. But you'll never see a couple guys going to Bon Jovi together ... unless they swing for the other team. No guy would be caught dead at a Bon Jovi concert with another buddy .. its just part of the code of guys.

If you want to go to Bon Jovi and your a guy ... you have to go with the Mrs.... if you don't have a Mrs .. find a girl to go with. Its the only way. You can still go with a group of buddies ... but that group needs to have atleast one woman in it ... otherwise ... there'll be a lot of guys with their girlfriends snickering at you!

Ticket prices or the date they'll go on sale have not been announced ... its suppose to be set up by the start of November.

Will it sell out like ACDC and the Stones ... I don't think so ... but it will sell out, and every woman in Saskatchewan will be there.

Be warned ... your wife, girlfriend, or mom will turn into Elaine when they hear the news.

Music

There has been some unbelievable concerts in Saskatchewan over the past year or so. Just off the top of my head ...

The Foo Fighters - the only show I've seen where they had a totally different stage set up in the middle of the arena where they moved to half way through the performance to do a half hour acoustic set.

The Eagles - 3 shows in Saskatoon ... 3 of them!!! All of which sold out, and all of which rocked!

Green Day - They win the craziest audience participation award. About 10 times they had people from the crowd on the stage singing their songs or playing their guitars. It was mind blowing!

The Offspring - Maybe the coolest guys I've seen on stage. At the half way point, they did this little intermission thing where one of their fat roadies came to the front of the stage and waved his hands back and forth to some hilarious music, during which they threw out massive beach balls and had jugglers come on stage.

Collective Soul - Just went to this one on Friday ... I've had several chances to see these guys in my life and I wish I would have done it sooner .... It was an intimate show, which means we got real close without getting crushed. They sounded awesome and their guitarist blew me away!!

ACDC - Hands down, best concert I've ever been to. The energy of the 40,000 people their, the stage show, a monster sized Rosie tapping her foot to the music while humping a train ... BEST SHOW EVER!!

Now we look forward to the next big shows .... Kiss and GNR.

I know which show I would rather see ... but what about you?

This is one of the coolest videos I've seen in a long time. It might be more for people who really appreciate musicians. This was taken from all around the world by many random people ... all shot by the same guys and then spliced together afterwords. Amazing work really.

Swift Current Election 2009

Here's what I like about each candidate:

Don Robinson

- He kinda looks like my Dad.
(Don to the left, Henri Duperreault below)

Jerrod Schafer

- He's the closest to my age ... and invited me for a ham sandwich and soup when he announced he was running for Mayor.

Stacey Ellertson

- Probably the best mustache I have ever seen.

October 28th is the election ... all the info is at swiftcurrentonline.com.
