Eddie!

Legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen played himself in an episode of "Two and a Half Men"Monday night.

"I was asked to do a cameo for 'Two and a Half Men'. I typically shy away from these requests as I am not an actor, but Charlie Sheen and I are friends and since it was a scene with him, I agreed. Charlie and I had a great time, even though I was very nervous. The cast and crew were a pleasure to work with and helped me feel a little more at ease."

He's still recovering from delicate hand surgery due to a bone spur, a twisted tendon, and a cyst in the joint of his left thumb. He explained that the hand problems first popped up during VAN HALEN's last tour, saying, "During the last leg of our tour, I started developing pain in my thumb and my pinky. I didn't think much of it at the time. It got progressively worse to the point that about three months ago I wasn't able to play at all. My pinky and my thumb were totally locked up and felt like there was something broken."

His acting is stellar! ... he fit right in on the set of Two and A Half Men. (said very sarcastically)

Commercials

There is nothing like a great commercial. Sure sitcoms, movies, and sports are fun ... but they aren't nearly as fun as a good commercial. Why? I think it's because we expect to be entertained by everything on TV ... whether it be your reality show, a football game, or your favorite rom com... you expect to be entertained in some way ... otherwise you wouldn't be watching. But with commercials, over the years, we've been trained to think they're boring and meant to make you buy products you don't want anything to do with. They've just been a distraction from your favorite show all these years.

I think finally companies are starting to get the big picture ... advertising is not going to get you big sales RIGHT NOW!! But ... if you have a funny commercial and it plays quite frequently ... you may just get your product in the mind of your buyers which means next time they're out shopping ... sub consciously, they might just find themselves buying that product.

It's the same with radio ... just ask Murray from Fine Furniture Oasis .... he has done so much advertising over the years that everyone automatically thinks FFO when they're looking for an ottoman. I don't care what you say ... when you need something for the house ... you automatically recite these words in your head ... Fine Furniture Oasis 145 2nd ave. NW!

Anyway, here's my favorite commercial out there right now ... I use Axe ... but may just change because of it!

Swift vs. West

Although her last name shares our first ... it doesn't mean I can't laugh at what happened to country singer Taylor Swift last night at the VMA's in New York.

Kanye West took it upon himself to ruin a 17 years olds dream on National Television. Don't get me wrong ... I think what he did was horrible ... but because it happened to a country singer ... I thought it was hilarious!!

Curse country music.

That Beyonce though huh ... she is something.
